Employee Spotlight Series: Meet Senior Client Development Specialist, Lisa Richardson!

Q&A with Senior Client Development Specialist, Lisa Richardson.

For the month of January, we sat down with our Senior Client Development Specialist, Lisa Richardson to learn more about her and her role at Elevation.

What do you do in your role at Elevation?

I’m the Senior Client Development Specialist here at the agency. I’ve been here for over 3 years.  While Elevation has a far-reaching inbound marketing effort to help generate new accounts for the agency, I am part of the outbound marketing team. I reach out to prospective clients to introduce Elevation Marketing to expose B2B companies to our broad range of integrated marketing services.

Tell us about a typical day in the life of Lisa.

I’m an early riser because I’m very involved in my grandkids’ lives. I get them ready and out the door for school in the morning before heading into the office by 7:00 am.  I must have my coffee (actually 5 coffees) immediately upon arriving at work before sitting at my desk to start the day. Throughout the day, I use several different computer programs such as LinkedIn, ZoomInfo and our CRM PipeDrive to help research and track my new business efforts before making calls and sending emails. Usually, my day is split between making calls and emailing contacts in order to set up appointments to introduce our services.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Without a doubt, my favorite part is having a meaningful conversation with the person on the other end of the phone.  I love making a connection with everyone I speak with whether it’s an administrative assistant, marketing director or CMO. The best feeling is finding that one thing that sparks a conversation. People are so busy these days and they don’t have much time to talk on the phone…but many times it only takes me a moment to get them interested in hearing what makes Elevation different from all the other agencies.  I think they hear the sincerity in my voice which makes them feel at ease. Those are the discussions I live for.

What makes your proud to work at Elevation?

One of my favorite things is seeing how one phone call that I make can turn into a meaningful client relationship.  I love to see the people I’ve been in contact with visit the agency and interact with the different teams at Elevation. Seeing all the work that we generate for them is also a great feeling.  It all started with one phone conversation that I had.  It makes me proud of how my role contributes to our success.

What word would your new business prospects use to describe you?

I have heard time and time again from prospects and clients that I am tenacious…but in a good way.  They say that other salespeople reach out to them on a regular basis but they refuse to speak with them.  However, with me, they say they really appreciate how I connect with them on the phone.  It’s not a sales pitch but more so about building a relationship – a friendship – over a period of time. New business will eventually come from it…it just takes time and a little nurturing.

Tell us something we may not know about you.

I am very proud to say that I have 13 grandkids ranging from 6 months to 16 years old. As far as I’m concerned, I would like 13 more.

While I love my job, I can’t wait to get home to start spoiling every single one of them!

You’re about to perform in a karaoke bar. What song do you pick?

There’s only one song that I have ever sung at karaoke and that’s Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker.” I’ve loved her since high school! One other song that I sing around the office is Alicia Key’s song “Girl on Fire” after I successfully connect with a new business prospect.  ‘
