We are so excited to welcome our new Executive Director of Client Development, Lori Cox, to the team. To get to know her a little better, we sat down to discuss her background, what drew her to Elevation, and more! Keep reading to learn more about Lori.
1. Tell us about a typical day in the life of Lori
I start every morning off by walking my goldendoodle, Scarlet, around sunrise. Then, I get ready and head to the office where I spend most of my day having conversations with clients to help them through the process of aligning the best, most optimal programs with their needs and goals.
2. How did you choose this career path?
I learned a lot in my early days working in the industry. While earning my Six Sigma green belt at Johns Manville, I worked on a project aiming to improve client experience. During that process, I learned how the seemingly smallest differentiator could be the biggest driver of value for the buyer, especially in a highly commoditized and industrial sector. It was there that I truly embraced the passion for strategy built upon insights and research that clearly defines a brand’s positioning and messaging that truly resonates with their particular audience. From there I was hooked!
3. What were you doing for work before joining Elevation and how did that prepare you for your current role?
After leaving corporate America, I built and ran a boutique agency serving clients across North America. We spent a lot of time in the B2B space, and our core competencies were strategy and digital marketing. After the agency was acquired, I spent the last couple of years working with global brands, creating and executing strategies to engage audiences internally and externally.
4. What drew you to Elevation Marketing?
The top-notch talent, the culture of collaboration and the incredible spectrum of clients. The team at Elevation has tremendous marketing and business experience, on both the agency and client side. There is also a good mix of B2C and B2B experience that bring fresh perspectives that continue to drive value for clients. I have to admit, the most compelling factor was the culture. It’s this interesting mashup of corporate culture with proven processes, systems and professionalism, combined with entrepreneurial creativity and courage to step beyond traditional paradigms.
5. In your mind, what sets Elevation apart from other agencies?
Most agencies talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. From how they do business internally, how they present themselves externally and how they work with clients. Elevation Marketing impressed me from the start, really leading by example with an impressive digital presence backed by an exceptional team of super smart people and supported by processes and systems to ensure excellence.
6. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I am an adventurer! I love to travel and go to new and uncharted territories. Some of my favorite hobbies include off-roading and hiking. As a kid, we drove go-carts off-road and on dirt racetracks, so I suppose it was embedded in me early on.
7. What’s your favorite food? Least favorite food?
I’m somewhat food agnostic, as a lover of most food made from scratch and with lots of fresh ingredients and spices. My go-to Friday night fav is a green chili cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. My least favorite food would be anything with anchovies.
8. If you could pick one superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation because of the limitless potential to see and experience new places, people, and cultures
