Employee Spotlight Series – Meet Our President, Scott Miraglia!

Meet Our President, Scott Miraglia!

New Scott Miraglia-lores

For the month of November, we sat down with our fearless leader, Scott Miraglia to learn more about him and Elevation! Keep reading to find out how Elevation got its start, Scott’s vision for Elevation, and more.

1. Tell us about a typical day in the life of Scott:

At Elevation, I wear many hats and no day is the same. I don’t engage in marketing work any longer but instead, I handle management, finance, new business efforts at a leadership level and coach the account team a bit throughout the week. I am also engaged in company planning, culture and staffing issues. So “think” leadership and operational work on a daily basis.

2. How did Elevation get its start?

Elevation started in 1999 in Chandler, Arizona and is considered one of the first national B2B marketing agencies in the U.S. Elevation originally focused on traditional marketing activities with clients in the agricultural space. Interestingly enough, agribusiness clients now represent about 10%-15% of our book business. Today, we focus on both traditional and digital marketing activites and serve a wide range of industries ranging from manufacturing to professional services to healthcare and more.

3. What is your vision for Elevation?

Beyond our mission and vision statement which can be found here, I really want to see the agency continue to grow so we can do great work with great brands while providing an opportunity for our staff to grow their skills and experience in the marketing space.

4. As a fellow business leader, what advice can you give to another business leader seeking to hire a marketing agency?

I have written many blogs on this, but finding a quality agency (not the cheapest) that can best meet your goals and objectives and drive ROI if that is part of your KPIs. Finding that perfect match of an agency’s capabilities, experience and soft people skills that truly aligns with your business is when the best work gets done.

5. Why does Elevation stand out as a trailblazer in the B2B marketing agency space?

We are one of the only B2B agencies in the US that offer end-to-end marketing services from innovation to research to strategy. We then connect it with great execution which makes us unique because all those services exist internally and don’t have to be outsourced. I also think B2B companies appreciate the experience we provide and desire to work not only on the marketing side of the equation but also with sales-driving that sales and marketing alignment that companies in the B2B space need.

6. What’s the most gratifying part of your job?

I love seeing companies meet their sales and marketing goals. It’s also great to see creative people have interesting work to do inside an agency that supports them and allows them to expand on their skillset. I love providing a business where creative people can prosper.

7. What do you feel makes Elevation’s culture so special?

Our culture is a bit more mature, more family-oriented, and less of a party like you see in a lot of B2C agencies. We ask our employees to check in the drama at the door because we have enough pressure in meeting client demands and their deadlines. For an agency, it’s the right mix of stability, calmness and excitement. This culture attracts a talented and great group of people who I could not be more proud of.

8. What would you sing at karaoke night?

Don’t stop believing by Journey….if I could sing!

9. Tell us something we may not know about you

My early career included trading options at the CBOE in Chicago. I was one of those people who wore one of those crazy colored jackets and ran around all crazy like. I was blessed to work for a very good man who was way ahead of his time in terms of modeling how options traded and applying it in the trading pit. Fun Times.
