Employee Spotlight Series: Meet Senior Account Manager, Freda Neff!

Meet Senior Account Manager, Freda Neff!

Tell us about a typical day in the life of Freda.

Upon waking up, I will work out (3-6 days per week – depending on my meeting schedule) and help get my six-year-old son, Jackson, ready for his daily school work. Once I get settled in at my home office, I plan my day around what deliverables are due and set time aside to review those before sending them to clients, responding to all emails and meetings throughout the day. The days are always evolving based on client changes, or other demands that can arise on any given day. You have to be flexible and willing to change direction at a moment’s notice. My workday usually ends around 5:30 or 6pm, depending on my workload for that day. Then it’s time to make dinner, spend time with my husband, Sean, and Jackson before it’s ready to get my son ready for bed. I will then work another couple of hours on consulting work or my online e-comm business. I unwind by either reading or watching a show and then off to bed.

What do you do in your role at Elevation?

As a Sr. Account Manager, I help manage and lead the accounts that I’m assigned. I manage the day-to-day to ensure we stay on message, manage deadlines, budgets and facilitate client marketing initiatives. I review all deliverables and provide problem resolutions – if the need arises. I’m the client advocate within the company and focus on client satisfaction. The job is fast-paced and you need to wear many hats – and it’s a fun place to work!

What do you find most rewarding about your role?

I love working with clients and helping to grow accounts. I’ve learned a lot in this role and continue to learn, which I find rewarding. It’s never a dull moment, and to top it all off – it’s a great working environment. I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and at other places, the job can get boring with limited project variety/accounts. But at Elevation, it’s never a dull moment, and there is always a project or account that is challenging and I love that!

How did you choose this career path?

I majored in Marketing/Advertising in college and never looked back. I have always liked advertising, and to this day, I still do. It’s always evolving and morphing, so there is always something new to learn and that is fulfilling and rewarding to me.

What marketing trend is most interesting to you right now?

I’ve been interested in e-commerce for years now. From the buyer’s journey on a website, to heat mapping, cart abandonment, and I’m interested to see how voice commands will change the landscape of how we shop online in the coming years.

Any tips for working from home during this time?

Yes, try to keep the same daily schedule/routine, just as you would any workday driving into the office. Wake at the same time, exercise, eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the same time and so on. The structure helps keep me centered and focused. I do things at the same/similar time and I don’t have to think about it, which leaves me more time to focus on other tasks and it’s easier to manage my to-do lists.

Tell us something we might not know about you.

I am an advanced open water scuba diver. My husband and I have taken trips to places strictly for a diving experience, such as drift-diving in Cancun, night diving, shipwreck diving, etc. I’m also very crafty and I like to bake, decorate cakes with fondant (including sculpting animals and characters), cook, and of course, spend time with my son and husband whenever I can.
